Title VI Policy

The City is committed to compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, and all related regulations and statutes. As a recipient of federal assistance, and in accordance with requirements of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, and all related regulations and statutes, the City assures that no person shall, on the grounds of race, color or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any City program, activity or services. The City further assures every effort will be made to ensure non-discrimination in all of its programs, activities and services, whether those programs, activities or services are federally assisted or not.

Any person who believes that he or she has been subjected to discrimination based on their race, color, or national origin, may file a Title VI complaint. Complaints may be filed by the affected party or a representative and must be in writing. The complete Title VI Procedure is available for review.  A signed, written complaint should be filed within 180 days of the date of the alleged discrimination.
