Description of Services
The Police Department's activities include:
  • Preventative planning for public safety
  • Enforcement of laws
  • Administration of police personnel
  • Traffic authority
  • Issuance and recording of permits for vendors, auctioneers, and firearms


The Norwich Police Department has applied for funds in the amount of $16,430 under the 2014 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program established within the United States Department of Justice. Said funding is to be used for law enforcement programs, and/or technology upgrades. The Program requires public participation in the process and the ability to comment.
