You can find information on how to contact local government officials through our Staff Directory.  The State of Connecticut has also has a searchable directory on its website for contacting State employees.

Elected Legislators

The Mayor and City Council's contact information is available on their webpage.

Norwich maintains a listing of contact information for its Federal and Connecticut representatives and senators.

Public Meetings

The City of Norwich's public meetings are listed on its Municipal Meetings Calendar and agenda and minutes are posted in the Agenda Center.  The agenda for City Council meetings include the proposed resolutions and ordinances to be discussed on the agenda.

Laws
Norwich's Charter and Code of Ordinances are available online.  In addition, recent individual City Council ordinances and resolutions are posted on the City Council's webpage.  Norwich's Code of Ethics is contained in Chapter 2, Article IV of the Code of Ordinances.

The Connecticut General Assembly maintains the Connecticut General Statutes on its website.

Budgets & Taxes
Norwich's adopted budgets since 2005 are available in the Finance Department section of the website.  The documents include the salary information for general city employees.

The Tax Collection webpage provides information and links to see a 10-year history of mill rates, view and pay property taxes online, learn about the tax collection fees, and learn more about the tax collection process.

Audited Financial Statements
Norwich's audited comprehensive annual financial reports (CAFRs)  since 2004 are available in the Finance Department section of the website.  This page also has links to the bond official statements issued since 2005.

Labor

Labor contracts, which include the wage schedules and describe other fringe benefits, are available in the Human Resources section of the website.  You can also learn how to apply for city jobs and view a listing of job opportunities.

Bids and RFPs
The listing and results from recent invitations to bid and requests for proposal are available online.

Lobbying

The City of Norwich makes contributions to the following organizations which; in addition to the research, training, analysis, and other professional services they provide; engage in some lobbying activities.  The amount of the contributions to these entities is listed in the adopted budget.

Freedom of Information Act

Written information requests under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) can be submitted to the appropriate department using the Staff Directory.  We will respond within 72 hours of receipt of the request.  If we are not able to provide you the information you have requested immediately, we will contact you to let you know when it can be completed.  The cost for FOI copies is generally $0.50 per page.  However, please refer to CGS 1-212 for a more comprehensive discussion of the FOIA fee structure.
