The Norwich Recreation Department will be offering scholarships to eligible Norwich families (proof of Norwich residency is required) through the year. A limited number of scholarships will be available to families that meet income guidelines. The City of Norwich does not want to exclude anyone from recreation programs, however, please understand that funds are limited.
Scholarships will be selected based on overall need amongst those people who apply. Families will receive one (1) program per session per child in order to give all families an opportunity to experience our programs. The Recreation Department will maintain a waiting list for scholarships and they will be offered in the order applicants were placed on the waiting list.
The Norwich Recreation Department will need to verify income prior to awarding any scholarships. We verify income through your most recent income tax return. The most recent Federal Tax Return must be attached (not W2’s) for all HOUSEHOLD members. We will also accept statements from select social service, state or federal agencies when income tax returns or pay stubs are not available. All documents must show that income was verified.
